Why is it so difficult to take rest these days?

Even if I am working 10 hours a day and I take rest for like an hour, it feels like I am wasting my time.

I don't know this has happened with others as well but it happens a lot with me. If I take rest, like taking a nap in afternoon, or maybe reading a book in the middle of the day, I feel like I am wasting my time and I should be doing my work, or should be learning something new. This thought is just so depressing that I feel "guilty" to take some rest or a day off.

It's like if I take a day off, I would have to work harder the next day. Whenever I sleep early, I get this thought that people are building when others are sleeping, they are getting extra time and they are utlizing that time well. And this is just for few years, these few years of hardwork and sleepless nights will create my future, my career.

If you also feel guilty about taking a break, or taking a day off, or taking rest then read further, you'll definitely feel light after reading it.

I have observed that I never pressurized myself this much when I was in school. I had lot of things to handle that time also, and surprisingly I was able to get everything done on time without exhausting myself. This is happening a lot these days because of social media.

I see a 12 year old designer throwing fashion shows and designing incredible dresses, I see a 15 year old running a million dollar company, I see a couple started they business together and now they are earning well, and what not is shown on social media. So when you see and consume this type of content everyday it's natural for you to compare yourself with others, and this comparison leads to all the problems that I am facing, and that others at my age must also be facing. Now I am not saying that everything you see on social media is fake, but majority of them is fake.

Now even if I myself know these things, it's difficult to get the hands of instagram and facebook.
